JACQUIE SPECTOR

What moves me most as a photographer are the beautiful forms of pregnancy and the smiles and tears of babies and children. Capturing a child's inner beauty and unique personality is what I do best. With the birth of my daughter in August 2005 I felt compelled to return to my first love of photography after spending many years as a producer and director of television documentaries.

A native of Michigan, I attended Michigan State University earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. My work during this time was focused on abstract nudes and portraits. After running my own successful boudoir photography studio, I left to travel around the world, taking photographs in more than ten countries. My travel portfolio was picked up by Impact Photos, a slide library based in London, which sells images to publications across the world. I settled in London where I lived for 15 years. During that time, in addition to my work on television documentaries, I obtained a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics specializing in Visual Representation.

In 2005 I returned to the United States and chose to live in Boston. I live up in the beauty of the North Shore. It has been over a decade now that I have devoted myself exclusively to my passion for photography and, of course, children!  I learn something new with every session and am forever being reminded of what a wonderful, loving and generous place our world can be.

GIVING BACK

I believe that giving back is so very important. Being part of something bigger than just yourself is a really wonderful way to stay connected to your community and help others who are in need. I am proud to be part of Family Promise Beverly and The Children's Heart Foundation - New England Chapter. I encourage you to learn more about what they do and what you can do.
